I'll just get into what I'm trying to do here. I want get a group of people together at least once or twice a month to discuss our current works-in-progress. Any type of creative project is welcome. Whether it's a painting or some machine or something purely conceptual you never plan to make real. If you're creating it, Let's hear about it.

It's incredibly helpful to have people to bounce ideas off of and keep you motivated when working on a personal project. My hope is that this group could provide that and serve as a jumping off point to collaboration between

members (it'd be tight to have an exhibition at some

point but I'm getting ahead of myself). If you want to

get and give insightful feedback and meet people

who want the same, and potentially collaborate with

them in the future, this group's for you.

Ooo so you are interested

Ooops! Too many people!

12/5/23: A lot of people have reached out and expressed interest in the group, which is great, but I don't really have the room to host more people than have already reached out.

If you're really really interested, please still reach out because there might be spots opening up throughout December, but I can't guarantee anything at the moment.

Get in touch

Before the group meets for the first time, I'd like to have us all meet online. It seems like most people have Instagram, so I'm making a group chat where we can coordinate our first meeting and just chat as well. Message me @john.proffitt on IG and I'll add you to the group. I certainly don't want to exclude people who don't have IG, so if you are interested but don't have an account there please leave your email below and I will reach out to you.

P.S. Be 21 or older please. It'd be nice if we could go to a bar or something.

Workspace

I live in a house where I have access to the basement, and a landlord who does not care at all.

Over the past year I've built up a decent little shop/laboratory where I've been making stuff, experimenting, and collecting materials.

I think it would make a great shared space for this thing of ours. Who knows what we could cook up down there?

All the basic tools.

Materials to share.

A 3D Printer.

Space to present.

If this whole thing sounds awesome to you but you're nervous because it would mean meeting a lot of new people and sharing your work with them, you should definitely join.

People are kind and the world is beautiful and worth engaging with.
